SWRC President Sam Green Reportedly Not To Seek Another Term..Who Will You Vote For?

Sources within the SWRC report that Pastor Sam Green may not seek another term come September. These reports are circulating within many workers close to the administration. This decision reportedly centers around the financial controversies that have caused several major blunders that have exhausted the executive committee. Sources close to members of the executive committee report that several members are growing weary of the evasive tactics that the administration team has gone through to thwart constituency influenced decisions which have led to the committee voting a no confidence in the administration. Essentially, this means that the committee wanted to fire the administration last year. Reportedly, the Southwest Union Conference intervened and compelled the committee to give the administration a chance to turn things around. Committee members are growing weary of minimal progress the administration has made since this opposition. If the vote of no confidence had passed a new administration could have been instituted last year.

This pressure has reportedly taken a toll on the current administration and it is seemingly becoming evident by sources close to the administration and president that another term would be too stressful to undertake unless a new committee is elected to provide less confrontational opposition. It is reported that the president intends to endorse Dr. Gordon Jones of Austin. TX  and has given many preferences and opportunities to help propel him to a more prominent position within the executive committee with the hopes of being provided a church within the conference to retire within the ministry. Conveniently, Dr. Jones has yet to give up his seat and vote on the executive committee even though it is a conflict with the by-laws. This political tactic is one of many that continues to exhaust members of the committee and workers within the conference. A vote for Dr. Jones, could mean a philosophical vote for Green as he has become the protege to continue the philosophies of the current administration. Who do you plan to vote for?

Your video was interesting. How old are you? Is City Temple your home church. I realize that there are children, who have grown to adulthood. As a young person, you see things that you don’t like or understand. I’m a fourth generation Adventist. I’ve been around long enough,to see this once vibrant conference, turn into this vindictive, selfish, demeaning entity.
The people in charge use their positions to hurt people. We have become the conference that hire pastor’s that come with baggage. When I began working for SWRC, things were so different. We were like family.
I don’t know your Pastor, personally. But when he left SWRC he declared, He would never RETURN. In the workings of Adventism ministry, pastors move around from place to place. They are not allowed to remain In a church for no more than a maximum of 5-7yrs. See what happens when a person stays to long.
Members do not pick the pastor. This is not a first day church. SDA pastor’s do not have a say in their moving to another district. If he doesn’t , then the pastor is deemed insubordinate. When you don’t know all the rules, laws, and workings of SDA CHURCH.We sometime find ourselves being chosen , because we don’t know the complete workings of the church. I don’t blame you. There has always been a personal committee. It’s new to you. But not to people who has worked for the conference. There are personal committees in all levels of SDA WORK!!!

BIGOTRY: is a person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices; especially: one who regards or treats the members of a group (as a racial or ethnic group) with and intolerance.

PREJUDICE: is an unfair feeling of dislike for a person or group because of race, sex, religion, etc. : a feeling of like or dislike for someone or something especially when it is not reasonable or logical.

I DO NOT CARRY THESE FEELINGS TOWARD ANYONE OR GROUP.

I AM FOR HUMAN RIGHTS FOR ALL PEOPLE.

NAME CALLING: Who did I refer to with a negative name? I refered to the President giving Jones a rediculous title above other hard working ministers. I described the actions of Foster as “bulldogish.”

How can you condemn one person on a social media of opinions when you might participate on other media who use worse disçriptive language? This is a blog of expressions that give members and pastors an outlet to express how they feel; hopely in relationship to Christ.

Foster is an intelligent, human under treasurer. But the devil is intelligent too! Foster’s scheme to reduce the workforce by retirement and termination to cover up the bad management and terrible policies of the SWRGC should be discussed by constituents. The problem we currently have is that Constituents are not informed and involved—including YOU. Therefore I can love Jones, the administrators, Foster etc., and still be against their policies and actions.

Anonymous….you cannot believe everthing you read even on this blog because opinions are subject to be wrong and each person giving an opinion can CHANGE THEIR MINDS! This is what discussion does. My opinions have changed based on the dialogue found on this blog. Thankfully, your comments have allowed me to reflect personally concerning comments made by me. If you didn’t comment how could I reconsider what I have written? How could I say, “Anonymous made a good point.”

I deeply feel that what leadership has done and currently doing is regressive because of their unchristian actions that warrants NOT being returned this September. But…they might be! God is in control of this even if this is my opinion. Even in our Church.

People who are not heard can do some terrible things all because no one is listening. Right now the pastoral ministry is under attack. Preacher’s families and ministries are abruptly ended because our leaders are not willing to have a conversation such as the Green Administration. The President is the immediate supervisor for all Pastors in the SWRGC. On moves, terminations and retiring the President should be personally involved directly (Not through some other person). When has this President ever directly discussed termination, relocation or retirement with any pastor with the good news and bad news before it happened? He may have made promises to some knowingly that he could not fulfill them.

What I accept from you and feel that you are on target with is that there are ministers who do not have the guts to stand for anything because they fear not being promoted; or fired; and retired. Thus, ministers who are in our largest churches have really stood for little in the SWRGC Public eye except for one when it come to ministerial injustice. The entire SWRGC ministry who garb themselves with the cloak of religion and EGW as a hideout for cowardice assures their fellow collegues to be shot down one by one which indicates WHY they are constantly on the anvil of unnessasary relocations, terminiations, and forced retirements. If they all stood together and said, “enough is enough” their situation would change overnite.

Anonymous, if you are not in support of “nobody” then you have nothing to add for change. BUT, everyone supports something—even you. So you can’t be honest with your recent comments nor is it helpful. What you fail to see is how devestating the recent actions of the SWRGC leadership has impacted pastors, members and churches.

Keep commenting….it is good whether I agree or not…it is healthy!

      Am Bad,
As Ice Cold said, we need to chill. So let me start by apologizing. My comments were born out of frustration. Prejudice, bigotry, name calling etc find it’s way on the blog by many writers, not you alone. I am merely saying that we need to focus our energies on knowing the policies and procedures, history, rules and by laws and anything else that we need to equip ourselves for our time at the mic. I have nene to many constituencies and watched too many pastors got punked at the mic because they did not do their homework. Members don’t much like them already and when they make a fool of themselves they are only making it worse.
I can’t for the life of me fathom why the current president was elected! Had the ministers forgotten what he was like before he went to the Union? Had they not seen how he dealt with them when he attended their executive meetings as the union rep? Had they not been around him when he spewed his negative rhetoric about them? Where were they? I tell you where, in a trance. They are not looking in the right direction, they are floating downstream because that’s what we like to do. The same thing will happen again September because the ministers will not come together, the will not trust each other, and God forbid that they would entertain the thought of really earnestly seeking Him for guidance in this process!!!!!!!! The president and his top advisor, the under treasurer have done a huge disservice to this conference

So true and this is what needs to be addressed on this blog. The problem that surrounds Polite is not about whether his ministry at CT is bad or good, but about an unjust negative persecution of him to relocate him. The President does not lead 50 years ago when unskilled men moved pastor’s and destroyed their ministry and families. Do you think pastors should be moved on the mind of one person using trumpt up charges fished out from his brain? No! A lame duck Executive Committee will fry a pork chop for dinner.

This election is about YOU! do you want yesterday or the future. Reach for the future pastor’s.

God help the pastor if they are anti-pastor:most are. The Pastors who are on the committee, they also get gossip firsthand, free ride, hotel etc. In addition they get to caucus for their moves or nonmoves. They are not anybody’s advocate but their own. That has been the way for many many years. What was done to Elder Polite was shear evil. It will not go unnoticed by God. The same way you all did not advocate for Elder Merrell and now some of you have suffered the same fate he did. Here is another chance to redeem yourselves. Rise up and fight for Polite. Great comment and I agree. But Merrell was not the only one who got the bad end of the sick. What about R. Brown and M. Meyers, Ellis, Williams and others? There werer some who did rally for Merrell but Merrell did not want to take it further we are told. Sources tell us that the NCTMA took a stand to save everybody including Merrell–who are all ministers. I was sent a letter addressed to the President requesting a meeting for the Preachers. I was at campmeeting when it took place. Ministers leaving the meeting said they had never witnessed a President so angry and unwilling to listen.

The situation concerning Polite is deeper than just him moving. Will the SWRC move men and women without consultation just because the President gives his reasons?

Thank you for the courage to say something meaningful.

Many of the pastors feel this way toward JONES because of what he did not do for them. Truth is truth. His inability to inform them concerning moves and terminations last year was beyond imagination.

Do you support leaders on emotion only or the facts?

Are you to judge who is Christ like or who is not?

Tell me factually what he has done to gain your support. I would love to hear it as well as others.

The problem with adventists is they all think they are of Christ. Take the plank out of your eye and stop judging. Now that’s not being of Christ.

As a public figure running for President I will state the case why he should not be President of this Conference because the truth being is, Jones has Rarely Stood for ministers.

  6. A MEMBER WHO HAS SOMETHING TO SAY says:

    Dear Pastor and Members:

I just received an email from the OFFICE by a minister concerning ARM (Adventist Risk Management). Basically it was concerning cyber terrorism and hacking sda computers. It also talked about the many law suits they encounter each year.

ARM should address what they proclaimed in the past; that lawsuits against the church arise from the bad decisions of rogue administrators and Exectutive Committees. In other words, “Doing the wrong things.”

What would you do if a police officer deliberately assaulted your daughter at a pool party like what happened in McKinney, Texas? You would want the Black Panters along with other urban organizations to come to your defense for justice. BUT, when injustices are taking place within our own Church no one will even make a Peep. They say, “let the business of the church continue as usual.

With this in mind have you contemplated Pastor, the recent relocation of Pastor Elddie Polite and why should you be concerned if you are an aging 60 or above minister? The truth that should be known is that if you fall into this catagory you could end up a casualty in ministry resulting from the present danger of growing old. It is a strategic, deliberate plan to get rid of you by the President’s Tea Party. And please don’t give me that crap about how a pastor has ministered well or not. Right now their is only on pastor in the DFW area left who is 62 and above. It has been reported that they are going to come for him. Yet the most senior men, the most prominent who pastor our largest churches have said nothing about this present danger of being deliberately “shelved.” Younger minister are clapping their hand with joy as they seek advancement by the demise of you obtuse older ministers.

If I were someone like you I would be writing into this blog like bumble bees flying out of the ground. You should be protesting in written form to the Union and North American Division against this perpetrated plan of age descrimination. You know why? The President said to all of you that he wanted to solve the escalating health care problem by revamping the SWRGC with much younger men while they exempted the departments and administration.

For intance: in the last two years the only men and women who have been terminated or relocated have been workers who were 62 and older, a present danger while ARM looks away bragging about the many lawsuits they have won because of church state issues and courts refusing to get involve. This means that they will fire you over a bisquit and sick their law firms on you in defense of Administrators–for right or wrong!

The unfortunate problem is that many who are ministers in the SWRGC refuse to come to the defense of “one of their’s” until the ax hovers over their necks; and then they want everyone to hear and listen to them.

I ask you the question: Is Dino after City Temple and will CT allow him to come in and pastor them? This question is being thrown around the field in serious tones. Why was he reportedly so verbally against Polite?

Once again, another minister is a casualty of this administration and if reelected or not all replaced, you will see timber falling after September. Maybe yours!

You should protest before and at the September Meeting as some have suggested on the blog. But most of you are too scared to say something for everybody else even when it is so obviously wrong how terrible this administration is.

WAKE UP EVERYBODY NO MORE SLEEPING IN BED…..!

There are three bad reasons why this is sorry.

FIRST: Green never sat down and talked to Polite as his Supervisor concerning leaving CT.

SECOND: This relocation was done on the phone by the Executive Committee and could have waited until after the General Conference Session and Constituency Meeting. Why now when the President might not be returned?

THIRD: This move was for political reasons. Should a minister be moved for political reasons in a Christian denomination?

CT, you should rise up oncerning the manner through which your pastor will be relocaated. Show the Administration how to respect the SWRGC’s flagship Church!

      Beware of the “Green Butcher!”

Thank you for the comment but truth is hard to take! However, what you said is hard truth. But….members do not like ministers to be mistreated. There are good members who are not afraid to stand for right. They want to see ministers take a stand for fellow collegues. Members in the workplace know what it is like to be terminated on their jobs by a difficult boss. Many members know that this leadership is in trouble and the top four need to be gone. Just look at the former Dallas Fellowship pastor who appealed successfullly to the Executive Committee. Good members were their and did the right thing!

Presently, the current office is a cow palace. And you know what this means—it stinks with the stinch of manure. What is so sad is that this President declared a better way of doing business and he has done the opposite. He officially holds the title of being called “The Green Butcher!” How does he find peace within when he has offended, and killed many pastors?

What members do not understand is how terrible the Conference is being managed. They see green grass or smiling Administrators hiding behind clergy dress and shiver in fear when they look at them. This is why their is such a low trust and disrespect for pastors–because they are not seen standing together for the rights of other fellow pastors.

Green would not want to be treated in the way he has treated his fellow pastors. He will shed tears but know one will have sympathy for him. If he is not returned mercy may not be shown if he has to be relocated–meaning-a trip to El Paso. Why so harsh? because the one who is unmerciful often receives his just rewards. If you live by the Ax you will die by the Ax. Just ask Saddam Hussein

It concerns me how some use God for everything to make the mistakes of others seem politically correct. Anonymous, I applaud you for coming on and saying what your opinion is. But remember we all have opinions, some righteous and some corrupt.

The purpose of a blog like this is to say what our opinions are and not become afraid to have them challenged. If for some reason we find a hole in our opinion we reserve the right to change. The reason why so many members in the field do not trust Frank, Dino and Jerry, is because these incorrigibles are afraid to test their opinions. So they attack the good intentions of this social media and pastors who have had nothing to do with this blog accept state an opinion in the form of a comment.

The fact can be seen that the RatPack are worried because the Blog has done much for informational purposes while the Pack remain in a septic tank of old school politicks that is shallow in thinking. One miinister close to Frank once said: “Has he ever read a book cover to cover?” Excuse me Frank, that was his opinion of you not mine. I do credit you for being able to get your own name out of the the small committee. That was a work of sneaky political genius followed by the worse political embarraament in the SWRGC history. Negative Perception of you killed your efforts on the floor. “Human Means.”

Right now Anonymous, these three are involved knee deep in closet politics! For instance they are associating various ministers as THE BLOGGER as a means to prevent some prospective pastors from being elected as President or kill them. This simply says, if you state an opinion on this forum you are a devil and are not worthy of future advancement; while their destructive human efforts are sanctionble by God Almighty.

I believe God has allowed this blog to continue because the likes of Green and his administration have covered up the truth of their bad deed. Human Means!

Frank, why don’t you send your side of the story into the real blogger who will post your side of things and spell out why you feel so put out? Or, spell out a plausible path to elect someone whom we could all support? If you can’t take criticism and remain vindictive then you fall short of good constructive politics which you feel you are a master at. You are racking up even more negative perception by attacking something that concerned members are accessing all over the Conference and the World. Why be a villain? An exceptional article from you would spark readers to see you side of things. Sooner or later Hillary will have to come on Fox new and face Bill O’ Riley. Pick would love to read what you have to say even though I’m picky.

So anonymous, thank you for your courage but reconsider your IF. No one can beat God! God allows human means when people don’t want to listen to Him. The end is disaster unless leaders repent!
