Follow the Cheese?

Let’s face reality!

The election of 2011 is over. We have a new president and politicking is still around. The same people who were spanked at the college church in Keene Texas are now trying to come back for a second round. Only this time they are “boxing” with a heavy cheese bag. So, for just a moment I want you to “follow the trail of cheese.”

The disgruntled, who want to protect their interests, are dishing out a whole lot of cheese like the government distributed some years ago. So to follow the cheese you need to know where it is being “manufactured” and “how” it is distributed.

Let me explain it to you this-a-way. Some “grumps” didn’t get the power they craved. Therefore, they now seek a new method toward gaining power and control. That method in practice is to feed potential loyalist with “fatal doses” of tainted cheese in exchange for votes on the big Committee. They are also networking there cheese program with sensitive members and ministers. PLEASE, DON’T EAT THEIR CHEESE! It’s an addictive poison and it kills the work of Christ.

Those involved also know that if they could secure the controversial ministerial position left open in the “big cheese castle”, it could put them in contact with the ministers in the field where they can distribute even more cheese. That kind of distribution means the ability to influence weak and docile men and women with their sinister scheme for a showdown somewhere in the near future. When you eat too much of this tainted cheese the grumps have manufactured, it eventually clouds the mind and you end up with a big “fat” high. Don’t get caught eating at one of their “fat houses” because you might end up overdosing on some tainted cheese.

Ok, that’s the scenario so here’s the real deal.

Frank, Dino and the reclusive Jerry are still scheming on how they can sucker punch the pigeons by allowing “them” to at least be considered for the recent unfilled and vacated ministerial position. Garfield, a rat of another kind, put his name into the mix with the hope that they can lock up a section of the field and force the president to choose one of them who are the elite “card carrying members” of the secret society known to many as the infamous Ratpack (We need some big rat traps for these incorrigibles–baited with a whole lot of arsenic tainted cheese).

Hmmmm. . .very interesting! You see to be a member of their “secret society”, you have to demonstrate and pass several entry level tests of hoarding—they want all the cheese for themselves. That is, they have the all the good cheese while the pigeons get the tainted. You can observe their acquired skill set if you stick some cheese out there in their face. Then you will see what I mean. Boy, look at the pack run for the cheese (can we get a replay in slow motion).

Let’s be real.

What do the Pack brothers really want? They want power and security. They want the ministerial post so that they can regain power to control the pigeons and whip some minister’s tail. Frank is using Dino’s chameleon super power to charm board members into a hypnotic state to suggest that he is on their side to whip the President’s fanny, while Garfield enlisted as the cloak and dagger “smoothie” who may become the one to administer a fatal blow of a tainted cheese smoothie to the President. No one would have ever suspected that it was Garfield all the time. They also want to protect their big rat houses (They want to build them into mega rat palaces).

Let’s get real.

Now that the constituency meeting is over you no longer have a voice to express your opinion and trap the Pack with the cheese in their mouths. As for some spineless preachers, the Pack bought many of them with their scandalous exchange operation of “cheese for chicken” program. Yes, you take the “cheese” and I’ll give you some “chicken.” Little did they realize that too much cheese can leave you in an embarrassing constipated position? And Frank, Dino Jerry and friends are constipated up to their necks with their own manufactured cheese. They need a whole lot of Exlax.

THINK ABOUT IT

The so called NEW JACK ORGANIC CHEESE is a representation of any addicted person. Which means that they refuse to face the cause and effect of addiction and instead choose to run from it. Power and control are both addictive. What drives people to crave power and control and run from the sad consequences of ruined relationships and destroyed faith? Only when you stop running and face the desire for something that God says is not yours to have can you answer this question.

The world’s leaders of the past and present have fought wars and killed people to possess and maintain power and control. Certainly a forgotten lesson of many and especially the renown Ratpack.

    LYRICS BY BILL WITHERS

    “Another Day To Run”

If you don’t look into your mind and find out
    what you’re running from
tomorrow might just be another day to run

If you just sit and waste your time you’ll be
going where you’re coming from (think about that)
tomorrow might be just another day to run

    Someone must control your mind
    you’re the one
dark confusion’s what you find when you run.

I don’t want to waste your time but I’m talking
    to you like a son
Tomorrow might be just another day to run

Walking down the road of life looking for direction sometimes
my mind gets so mixed up I can’t tell lust from affection

Gonna stop in to a roadside church and get my mind a rest
and Lord Jesus, help me get my soul together in the process

Pretty ladies stand in line waiting for inspection
ragged old men drinking wine trying to drown rejection
I’ve been wasting too much time, I’m going to lose my
mind unless, Lord Jesus You help me get my soul together in the process

I see Tony Jr. fill up his arm with dope and dream
about a valley but he lives in an alley
filled with papers thrown away — Lord tell me
He’s long on dreams and short on hope and sometimes
he goes to rallies and stops by to see Sally just
    to pass the time away

Lord tell me Tony tell me why do you want to get high
    enough to die.

    WB And Left Behind:

I agree THE FORGOTTEN SHEPHERDESS should be the Person of the Year. Readers have not seen the total stats of the blog. It is and was off the chart. Do you know how many hits the blog received during the election? Beyond expectation! The person was a real strategist.

Here is my point about being anonymous. If people expressed their opinion and revealed their identity, they would be characterized negatively just like the Ex Committee proved.

The present ministerial man went back into his district and told some of his members to request withdrawal from the email list which was granted by the Forgotten Shepherdess by request. It was very few. He also requested that the person who wrote the stories be seriously reprimanded including fired appealing to his “base”, Frank, Dino and Jerry.

Frank on the other hand along with the former President put into record memos to be sent out to each church to inform members about the blog. They determined to enact policies to restrict workers from participating in a blog that criticized the local conference. (There is, was and still is not, no association with Shepherdess International) (And no one except them has thought the blog to be against the SWRC)

As mentioned the blog was never set up to be against the SWRC but to be a voice for ministers and lay people to “express” an “opinion” one way or the other. In actuality the blog favored the “Prez” because certain individuals created a “secret party” to get their person of interest in the presidential chair. THEY OWE THE ENTIRE CONSTITUENCY AN APOLOGY FOR THEIR ACTIONS AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPRIMENDED BY THE UNION PRESIDENT. THEY WERE DISLOYAL TO THEIR BROTHERS AND SISTERS.

What they have achieved is this—they “negatively portrayed” the blogs true intent wherein it is hard to get ministers and laity to write a post. Plum scared!

It is a fact that they went after someone who wanted to do something good for all the ministers especially senior workers to have the chance to fill out their ministry and at least be appreciated for their services. Eventually, every minister will become a senior worker and may in time receive the same treatment if there is no turn around.

THE CURRENT WEBSITE DOES NOT ALLOW MEMBERS TO EXPRESS AN OPINION WITHOUT THOUGHT OF EXPOSURE AND REPRIMAND.

WB, you proved the benefits though, of revealing who you are, but since that awful Committee Meeting in May of 2011, remaining anonymous is “a good idea.”

Crystal Clear, I hear ya. I say to the workers in this field, go to the new President and DIALOGUE. Actually, what you stated above is an eye opener, at least for me. A presidential memo was never dispatched—at least I never received it. Maybe he came to the realization it is a “blog,” where folks express their opinion(s). I can rightfully say now, “a new sheriff is in town.”

One of the very first moves by the current administration (Sam Green) was to dispatched a memo to all of his workers, to send him a personal letter, addressing their wishes desires, goals, expectations, concerns; how he can assist them as their new president, etc.). A personal letter. This move, in my opinion, was an attempt to engage DIALOGUE. It is a new policy/dictum, an open door policy to engage conversation. Did all the workers respond, quite frankly I do not know. If they chose not to, then they are operating still under the old regime of thinking, not realizing that there was a changing of the guard. Personally, I took President Green up on his invitation and encouraged others to do the same. Whether the “new Prez” can fulfill all the expectations, I think not. But certainly, give the man the benefit.

I issued a pass for the Forgotten Shepherdess. For my colleagues, pastors, teachers/workers in the field, I do not give you a pass, but instead, I issue to you the challenge—go sit down and talk with” the Prez.” It is an attempt to make this field better. DIALOGUE. The greatest communicator on earth—Jesus Christ, encouraged DIALOGUE. I challenge you, find the “Cajones” (a political term) or the “Hutspa” (a Jewish term) to do so. Go in the Spirit of Christ, even if you disagree with the Prez.

Crystal Clear, if what you said is factual( and I do believe it is) relative to the selected new ministerial secretary in his statement(disciplinary actions and firing of workers) to the then Executive Committee, that “type of spirit” will neither thrive nor survive. As a matter-of-fact, I am shocked such statements were allowed to fly without correction from my ministerial colleagues on the Executive Committee. Nevertheless, in-closing, to all my Fellow Workers I encourage you to go to the Sam and DIALOGUE. Am I Crystal Clear…

I took Green’s letter seriously and I know that others did the same. Many of our senior men who are not on the present new retirement program are LEFT BEHIND. Great men are going to their graves in poverty. This should not be!

I don’t need a pass because I am exercising my constitutional right as I respect yours. I do not believe that the President has yet to “seriously” dialogue the men. I fully support Him! On CNBC a documentary revealed how a wardin went through a his prison on a regular basis to dialogue with the inmates. He is seeking them out for change. Jesus seeks to dialogue with sinners–and finds them. Green should do the same. Dialogue means nothing if you don’t come with a plan of corporate fairness. Once you present “an open door” it breaks down attitudes.

Many of us who have participated in this blog cannot reveal who we are and should not. We could have done this at the beginning as you have done. 2011 PERSON OF THE YEAR

I have made some serious statements on this blog concerning the Strategic Plan released during the constituency meeting. I stand by my comments. I think we could have done better with far less money. And, I believe that it lacked the legs needed to become a working reality.

However, when it comes down to the PERSON OF THE YEAR, HANDS DOWN IT IS THE PERSON WHO STARTED THIS BLOG, THE FORGOTTEN SHEPHERDESS—the STATS speak to his/her success and genius that gave constituents a voice.

With that said, a second and close first would be CM the Chairperson of the STRAT COM. Why? Because she got something done that no one in our conference has achieved in my time or since the inception of the institution as far as a strategic plan is concerned. I believe that the plan is a good start and should be put into place with the idea that it is a work in process.

One area the STRAT Plan wanted to address was the problem of mobility of ministers. I never heard that anyone on the STRAT COM spoke out concerning this vital area of concern when one of the committee members got the job above other more deserving workers. A definite contradiction. Did CM address the concerns of workers on the EXCOM? I hope she did.

I congratulate THE FORGOTTEN SHEPHERDESS AND CM for their hard work and labor.

I believe that criticism helps leaders see another side and is always good to see several views. Yes, I will continue to give my opinions when necessary.

I was sharing with my wife just the other day that the whoever created this blog tips the balance towards brillance. From the time of its creation, it has spooked some, given voice to others(though anonymous), and given many a window, not just into SWRC, but into Adventist politics. So, I tend to agree, whoever it is, deserves the accolade or title “2011 Person of the year.” When I first began reading it prior to constituency, I suggested to the “top” (President, Secretariat, Treasurer and STRATCOM Representative), I wished they had captured on something of this nature to tweak ideas coming from the STRATCOM.

As an individual, I do struggle with anonymity when it comes to sharing personal convictions. However, I have opted to give a pass to the creator of this blog due to a culture we have created. Forgotten Shepherdess,as long as you keep it positive for SWRC, kudos to you, and have a Happy and Blessed 2012.

So, it has been about 7 months since the election. What has happened? Where is the strategic plan? Where is the actual headway into taking the SWRC into the future. Many of you write posts on this sight and work for this conference half of your life only to have the younger, less experienced take postitions of accomplishment that deservingly should go to more seasoned men. So whats being done? Nothing. Period. I dont mean to speak critically of the President, but this is what the people elected you for. Why would anyone come into office and not present to his staff or subordinate leaders a direction and easily obtainable goals for the SWRC. If you ask any minister where this conference is going, some will say north, others will say south, but no one will say, “they dont know”, which is the truth. Every leader should be able to visualize and conceptualize his goals and objectives. If a strategic plan needs legs, then you either give it legs or buy a new table. No one wants to eat on the floor!

    Gridlock!
Are we hostages? Is the President of this conference a hostage to the politics of old? Where are the sweeping reforms. I have been told that its not that easy. However, I certainly would not allow strong armed politicians to control my agenda. Then again, I have to put an agenda forward first. Because the President did not define a future for this conference formally on paper, the ousted party, so we thought, is going to do it for him. Which means, they are going to try to get their selfish agenda through by any means. So, its Dallas Politics as usual.

So here is what I recommend. The new President should have some alone time and draft a resolution or strategy for the next three years that looks at, career progression, ministerial development, and most important, organizational structure, but put something on the table. Whatever is broke he should offer solutions to fix, what works he should improve. The office that he holds is not just for prestige, its hard work. I challenge him to offer a new direction. I know change takes time. But is he or anybody truly listening? Or are we just supposed to roll over like so many old logs, heading down the river to the saw mill, waiting to be cut into smaller wood and then turned into a chair, TABLE, or cabinet. Remember, ONCE, YOU WERE A TREE!

What a great analogy! I’m afraid all the ministers have been converted into chairs. They have been sat on so long and cut up in to pieces they feel if they try and be a tree they might turn into a stump. All I know is on my job, unfair promotions will be met with outrage and petitions might be signed and actions will be taken. As I have stated before, I have been in this conference almost from the beginning and I cannot believe this is still going on to this extent. What I love about this blog is that the administrator and the people who are still commenting are so polite. Hardly anybody uses names, but they are definitely, politely sending us messages through comments and stories. It is hard for the lay people and some of the workers to figure out some of the people, but we do know you are sending important messages. Well, I am sure people are still speculating who Garfield is, and I have been carefully reading the blog for messages from everyone who comments. The message regarding Pastor Jones background really concerns me. I don’t know what that means. But if it means questionable character or moral failure, then he should not have been considered for this position above other more qualified men or tenured men. The truth always eventually comes out. What we should always remember is that we are all sinners and we can be forgiven. Our church is fine. Sinners are in every church. The problem is, are we ever going to do the right thing? you can’t fix anyting unless you stand up and that is why I so admire Dr. Stanley. The next time we have an election, we need to think about choosing a person who will stand up and who knows this field. Obviously, the ratpack and the executive committee needed to be eliminated, they have no sense of fairness and they are corrupt. In other words they stink and we don’t like it. I invite the President to try your best in all your dealings,as best you can to be fair and open, and get your website cracking so we can hear about what you are planning to do. By the way to Karen Butler, I saw your comment and you summed up my sentiments in two sentences.

The writer(s) of Left Behind gave a good description of the politics in the SWRC. I have listened to many ministers most described as the so called Frat Brothers. He was right! They don’t want to be left behind–but they don’t mine if good senior men are.

It amazes me that Knight pointed out the serious problems that we face in our organizational structure. It is not a system of fairness. It is a system of leaving good men and good women BEHIND.

The men and women who voted at the big meeting did so because they pictured SG as the person who would restore fairness. I still believe in him that he wants to do so.

This appointment was a serious mistake! Notice what the new appointee has done: excessive talker, played both sides of the field, maneuvered himself into positions on committees and focused on so called leading people in the field for his future. I don’t condemn all of this but it is not the traditional path established by the system.

The biggest problem among the ministry is distrust of each other. This distrust is created when ministers become cut throats in order to get ahead. The explosive problem can be seen when leaders upset the balance by putting someone in a position that has not earned it by service and time.

I think the reaction is coming because the president has added to this problem with a subtle messae that “ministers who have senior years are on the chopping block. He should address these issues.

There are many who believe that this choice was made strategically as we now have an executive committee potentially controlled by the “pack” and thwarting the agenda of our new president. How will the new director demonstrate independence from this influence? Will his first order of business be to avenge those who they think called the “pack” out for who they truly are or will he dig deeper? I love you anonymous! Can respect and love others who do not share your opinion? Can you love those who are reaching out to leadership for fairness and justice? I hope so as we are all striving to reach the God’s Kingdom.

Give me a Brake! I don’t see anything hateful in the post or blog. I see somone expressing a point of view. Is a person a devil who may draw questions from the decisions of our leaders. We are not a cult. The past reveals why we should scrutinize and become involved in a discussion regarding the direction and affairs of our church.

Our leaders are suppose to be held to accountability. Because we have chosen to do so does not mean that we are of the devil or hateful. By doing this we are making our region a better place.

Good to see the blog getting active again.

Here’s my two cents. I agree with the post in content. You have to read it carefully to understand what the person is trying to point out. There is a political element behind most all decisions in an organization. The president may be afraid to take a chance on ministers who have been in th work for a long period. He is searching for new and young blood with education.

I think this might be an oversight when other similar territories are advancing worthy people.

However, I do think the President means well and showing signs of good leadership.

I LIKE THE POST! IT IS FUNNY

Good to see you on the blog.

I don’t totally agree with you. Time is too short to tell the effect of the present leadership. Also, the average leadership doesn’t realize how deep the politics are in this conference, Someone pointed out in a blog months ago that the same people described above have been running there poiitical game since the early1980s.

Before I put my total trust in SG I want to know what his plans are for those who have served 20 years and above. The young are not that loyal when it comes to politics. They gravitate toward the person who might get them where they want to be. The current appointee is a smooth operator who plays both side of the fence.

    WOW!

What Truth. This is a tought blow for senior men. It is a statemenet of where we are headed.

The past election revealed that many of the members and preachers voted for the new president because they “believed” that he would give workers an opportunity for mobility— especially those who have given their entire ministry and blood to the SWRC—yet overlooked by his predecessor.

It seems to me that the “fraternity brothers” who want to “be” and “build” mega churches should be given THAT opportunity. In the same breath, men and women who have given a lifetime of service to their Conference should be brought into the office. If this is not administration’s worldview then it only follows that our leaders (Union included) did not do a good job of preparing workers and ministers for their twilight years (They failed them).

Because many men and women will not voice their opinion is the reason why they keep getting set back. Many of you are going to retire to an unfulfilled cold retirement because you are accepting subjugation.

Blessings to the new ministerial man. He has great potential However, this is another thumb in the workers eyes.

I CONCLUDE THIS POINT WITH THIS ENDNOTE: EVEN THOUGH I RIGHTFULLY DISAGREE WITH ADMINISTRATION, I LOVE AND SUPPORT MY PRESIDENT AND SEEK ALL READERS TO DO THE SAME. NO LEADER IS PERFECT!

I am a worker voicing my opinion and “I approve this message.”

In every organization you will find leadership flaws. Most of our leaders in conferences have made mistakes by never defining the rules for success. Unfortunately, when you move an employee into a perceived promotion above other deserving men and women, with equal or greater experience, which have time and good service, the organization ends up with disillusioned workers who have no faith and hope in the system. When will the organization learn that defining and sharing paths to success and future positions energizes people into a better and hopeful, healthy attitude to improvement and hope.

Unfortunately, this has been the path of our church since its inception. The unqualified get the promoted and the deserving are overlooked. The recent promotion of the Spanish coordinator and now the promotion of a pastor who served here in only one pastorate is an example of how disillusionment takes hold.

You can’t throw tenured workers to the dogs and promote puppies. The new ministerial man may have his doctorate but has no work experience outside of his church performance. AS STATED ABOVE IT IS ALL POLITICS!

As an outsider, your current President should recognize that the present ministerial core is still at the “private level.” Because the pastorate is deemed the “short end of the stick” unless a minister assigned a large congregation, disillusionment will continue to prevail. When have you notice publically men and women receiving their 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, and 40 years of service pens? Or retirees given farewells of appreciation at camp meetings that is worthy? We just let them die in the sunset.

May God bless all of our ministers who have the guts to pastor. It takes men and women of steel to pastor for a lifetime in a pastorate with little room for promotion.

Forgotten Shepherdess, hang in there hope is on the way—hopefully, through this current President in the next few years.
